We are also taking note of Canadian mining company Rise Gold’s application to re-open the Idaho-Maryland Mine (IMM) in Grass Valley: the Draft Environmental Impact Report for the IMM in Grass Valley was released on January 3, 2022, triggering a 90-day comment period that ends April 4. A special public meeting before the Nevada County Planning Commission has been scheduled for Thursday, March 24 at 9:30 a.m. in the Board of Supervisors chambers at the Eric Rood Center. SJRTA has taken a position opposing the re-opening of the mine, as it would have tremendous impacts on the environment and surrounding community. (See our Scoping Comments . here.)
